You Are Not Starting Over; You Are Continuing
Unless something changes, the future that you can expect is more of the past
Your relationship has come to an end. The friendship you hold so dear to you has ended. The job that used to pay your bills is no more. Your services are no longer needed. We’ve all been there.
Sometimes we see it coming. Sometimes it completely catches us by surprise. And sometimes, we are the ones who end things. Endings can be painful, but they are part of living. Seasons change. Things come and go.
There are two extremes when it comes to how humans end things.
- The quitters — any sign of a bump in the road, and they throw in the towel
- And the ones who are too patient to their own detriment.
The tricky part is knowing when we should end things and when we should give it one more shot.
Here’s the thing, we’ve all at some point in our lives given up too soon or hold on to something that had no future.
How do we know when ending things is the right thing to do?
Henry Cloud, in his book; Necessary Endings says that;
