Why Storytelling Is What Will Reunite the World

Forget about the news, it will only tell you how bad the world is broken

Open any news channel, and within a few minutes, you are bombarded with information about how much the world is in turmoil. From police shootings, rape, war, hunger, financial crises, you name it.

And this is not a problem affecting only one part of the world. It affects us all: The recent shooting in a mosque in New Zealand — who would have thought? America, ranking as one of the 15 most dangerous places to live in the world: from pregnancy-related deaths to mass shootings and police brutality. Africa, the same old story — poverty, war and diseases. Europe over flooded with immigrants who are escaping war-torn parts of the world.

One can only wonder; how can we stay informed with the news without getting depressed?

For sure, the world is hurting. But we cannot deny that there are some good things happening in the world.

Are the news channels reporting the truth, half-truths or distorted facts? We will never know. But we cannot deny the fact that most media houses have an agenda. Which can either be political or profit driven.

Are we completely at the mercies of media houses?
