I work in Dubai and many of my colleagues are Arabs and the stories they’ve told me about their experiences in Airports…just unbelievable. Humans — we have brains, but I’m not sure if it’s helping us or making us hurt each other even more. I think airports and any other institutions/companies that deal with people from various countries need some serious cultural training and a little bit exposure to other cultures. Borders are breaking slowly around the world and some open mindedness might be necessary from all of us as we move forward. So sorry that you both had to go through this.
